I tried your instruction to set up the plugin for eclipse. Everything is fine but when I compiled the .as file, the screen is blank, ie no balls(compiled without error tho). I tried other codes I used, but nothing showed still. I am new to this, what should I do?

hi,
i am using all the latest elements for FAMES, when i try to complie the test project, i get an error 'unexpected add', in point class file,
'http://www.pasz.com/articles/InstallMTASC/default.html' here is the url for the test file,
the interesting thing is that if I change the Point.as 'add' function name to anyother name, the test file gets compiled,
any help in this matter is appreciated,
last thing is that above mentioned tutorial is outdated :(

wow. this is great. I've been searching for 3 hours to figure out how to write a complete actionscript file (using emacs, though the eclipse editor is good, too), and your tutorial really helped put everything together for me. Thanks.
some tips:
I made symbolic links (or you can move the files directly) from the asdt plugin files to the plugin eclipse directory. This allows Eclipse to make ActionScript2 show up in the Window->Preferences dialog box (and otherwise see that a plugin exists).
I was unable to find flashout, but simply embedding the swf file in an html page and pointing my browser to http://localhost:8000/foo.html worked fine (actually, I use django templates so that I can point to localhost:8000/flash/name and automatically see the file without having to change the html file to point to the right file)
problems:
I'm still trying to understand how to use the 'on (press) { foo }' construct that you see in macromedia tutorials.
when i do the following (in the main function or another function):
var button:Button = new Button(10,10);
button.onKeyDown() { getURL ("JavaScript:alert('This is Flash!')"); }
the alert pops up automatically without me clicking on anything. In short-- getting the full api for actionscript is very difficult. I don't want the half/visible macromedia api-- I want the text-only version for programmers, but so far no luck. If you can lend me a hand I would be quite grateful.
