Apple Pie Recipe

This valuable recipe been handed down to me from my mother. Everyone always seems to love these pies. They're not disgustingly sweet like other apple pie, and they're easy to make. Happy Thanksgiving!
  • Requires 2 9-inch pie crusts.
  • Mix 1/3 cup flour + 1/2 cup sugar in a large bowl.
  • Add seasonings - cinnamon, nutmeg & cloves... keep it light
  • 3/4 cup fruit (5 apples = 2 pies). Peel apples (golden delicious or green) and toss into bowl. Work quick so apples don't get brown.
  • Put apples in first pie crust.
  • Sprinkle extra flour on top.
  • Throw in a couple fresh cranberries.
  • Grate lemon peel over top.
  • Cut up the second pie crust in strips and lay it on top to create a grid.
  • Bake 40-60 mins. @ 350 degrees
  • When ready, juices should be bubbling and crust should be brown.
